It is named Gadget the sculpture realized by artist Olaf Nicolai for Berlin Airport: to dress its outside area, he chose a necklace of luminous oversized pearls around the glass passenger bridge. Made of 67 pearls, each with a diameter of 1.50 m, the creation presents a fireproof glass fiber fabric used for shells. The result is a simple but sensational design able to satisfy all the technical and safety requisites wanted by the environment.
