Welcome to Punta dell 'Este, one of the most important places in South America, a destination for visitors coming from every corner of the world. To protect itself from the summer heat but also from the winter rain, the dehor of this Hotel required a substantial intervention. Two problems to be faced: the area to be covered, not being orthogonal, required the use of unconventional materials; the municipality allowed the use only of light, easily removable materials. Solution? Install a fabric roof that combines design and functionality. We therefore opted for a shell-shaped cover made of PVC with side closures. The structure has instead involved the use of curved laminated wood beams combined with a steel core. The production process of the entire tensile structure, that connected two buildings placed on the sides of the terrace lasted 1 month, the total assembly a few days and the installation of the fabric 24 hours.
