DOWNTOWN ONE: THE FIRST VERTICAL VILLAGE
DOWNTOWN ONE: THE FIRST VERTICAL VILLAGE

Architecture, art, engineering and green attitude: the new frontiers of building speak this language. This is confirmed by the Downtown One, a 140-meter high mixed-use skyscraper, destined to become the tallest building in Albania, now under construction following a project by the award-winning Dutch studio MVRD.

Located in the center of Tirana in the boulevard Bajram Curri, the building, which should be completed in 2024, presents a series of houses and offices cantilevered on 37 floors arranged to form a pixelated relief pattern on the façade which, seen from afar, represents an abstract map of Albania. Who will live there, besides identifying his home by referring to the geography of Albania, thanks to the cantilevered structures will have panoramic views over the city and the surrounding natural landscape. The development of these structures will also allow communication and the connection between the residents thus offering them the feeling of living in a vertical village.

The project will also include a park and a play area, with hidden underground parking. The ground floor will house restaurants and shops, while the rest of the building will be used as offices and apartments.

"A futuristic project in the sense of the word - comments Roberto Rescia, CEO CoverHat - in which architecture puts itself at the service of the social by creating new channels of communication and integration. Again the protagonists are the materials, spearheads of achievements increasingly suited to contamination with the environment ".
