The customer: QC Terme spas and resorts, the most important and innovative player for thermal and wellness sectors and hotel accommodations. Thermal baths, wellness centers and charming hotels in Bormio, Pré Saint Didier, Milano, Torino, Monte Bianco, Roma, San Pellegrino Terme and in the Dolomites.

The request: to complete the design of the “Nuvola del Benessere” room set in the garden of QC Terme delle Dolomiti (Val di Fassa) with two installations replicating the cirrus’ forms and illuminated at night.

The critical element: to realize structures with soft but not rigid lines, easy to transport and to set up without affecting the aesthetics.

 

The solution: using a steel basement, lit by a programmable LED system, and a transparent PVC membrane, whose shape is maintained thanks to the introduction of air and, at chosen intervals, of air and artificial smoke to recreate the visual effect of lightness, we realized 2 clouds positioned at the entrance and on the roof of the room. To re-create their composition as much realistically as possible, the membrane was filled with artificial fog. "We have also developed a swirling motion of air to give the feeling of consistency-not consistency" - explains Roberto Rescia, CEO of Coverhat – “while steam coming out of special holes positioned on the surface has created the virtual dive effect in a soft bed".
