R&D: TEST MADE BY COVERHAT DEDICATED TO FITTING INSULATION MATERIAL AND MEMBRANES
Research and development are one of the bases for CoverHat. The company, thanks to its internal R&D department, develops functional studies to understand the potential of some materials to optimize and improve their use. A recent experimentation project, focused on fitting of insulation material (thermal film) to membranes (pes/pvc fabrics), goes in this direction. "The study - explains Roberto Rescia, Ceo CoverHat - will take place on several occasions. The first step was focused on choosing the most correct insulation material. Following numerous evaluations, we have identified in a thin thermal film the one that guarantees the best compromise between performance, constructive characteristics, overlapping membranes, performance for use and price. We proceeded with the construction of three models of scale structures that will be covered with three types of membranes: one double layer classic technology, one double membrane with blackout insulation material in between and one with translucent insulation material. The prototypes are installed adjacent for continuous monitoring. From the data that will be collected, we will have reliable comparisons between the classic technology available on the market and the new systems that will be presented to the market by CoverHat. We will also be able to verify the correct functioning of the simulation software that are normally used to size the technological systems and calculate the forecasts of the management costs". A structured project that opens the way for new experimentations.
