“GREEN ATTITUDE”: A URBAN REDEVELOPMENT BY BOERI ARCHITECTS
It is called “Cà delle Alzaie”, it is divided into three residences in the Treviso area (Italy), and it is the last green redevelopment work that vaunts the signature of Stefano Boeri Architects. The realization integrates the green component in the architectural structure of the north and south facades, that host trees and large shrubbery, which aim to actively contribute to environmental regeneration, being in tune with the research and projects of Stefano Boeri's study on Urban Forestry. The project, defined with the builders Mauro and Gianmarco Cazzaro, goes far beyond. The entire project, realized for Cazzaro Costruzioni, is in fact structured on the recovery of an area of about 10,700 square meters, currently in a state of deterioration, but in the process of redevelopment thanks to the "Four November" Recovery Plan. The "Cà delle Alzaie" project, divided into three blocks, on one side completely immersed in a private garden and on the other in direct connection with the river park via a public cycle-pedestrian path connected to one of the main streets of Treviso, is therefore only a piece of a more structured mosaic, with a clear objective: to maximize the area destined to green. "Instead of an abandoned factory - says Stefano Boeri - three small buildings on the river bank host 120 trees and 400 shrubs on their facades, capable of producing more than 2.7 tons of oxygen a year. A discreet presence that recomposes the relationship between the city of Treviso, very close to the ancient walls, and the river Sile". "Overall - specifies Marco Giorgio, Project Director of Stefano Boeri Architects - the front that is composed is discontinuous, but allows each building to fully benefit from the relationship with the landscape. Also car parks and car spaces are located at a basement level covered with transported land, that allows the continuity of its green space with the public green of the river’s side".
