SEEN IN THE WORLD: PACIFIC FAIR RESORT

There are architectural achievements that mark a "before" and an "after" for the excellence of design and perfection in the use of materials. One example is the roof of the Pacific Fair Resort built by Fabritecture by Scentre Group of Westfield. The structure, part of the redevelopment of the Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, covers the Pacific Fair Major Redevelopment holiday area using PTFE. The structure has a complex internal and external trajectory of 610 meters that bends and curves along the entire perimeter, exploits the use of beams, equipped with programmable LED lights, that once illuminated can project extraordinary images and patterns through the fabric membrane. "A truly valuable realization - comments Roberto Rescia, CEO of CoverHat – that, taking full advantage of the characteristics of the materials, gives to an architectural work of great impact and capable of communicating lightness but, at the same time, solidity. Particular mention should be made to the careful use of PTFE, which is confirmed to be a suitable product for high performance roofing".
