TROPICALIA: BEYOND UTOPY
We have to wait until 2021, but the waiting will be repaid. Tropicalia will not only be the largest tropical greenhouse in the world under a single dome in the Pas-de-Calais area of northern France, but a truly unique work. The biodome of 215.278 square meters designed to be a place of discovery, wonder, and ecological awareness. The biodome will be the non plus ultra for those who want to immerse themselves in nature, in its most perfect version: idyllic climate, lush vegetation, and evocative settings in which boundless carousels of flowers will alternate with ponds and waterfalls inhabited by butterflies, birds and other creatures. Designed by the French architecture firm Coldefy & Associates for their client Opale Tropical Concept, Tropicalia will allow visitors to feel immersed in an Eden, where they can also walk along a 62-kilometer trail. The choice of the materials used, the mastery of the design - the dome, for example, made with ETFE pressurized air cushions fixed on an aluminum frame, thanks to its design will not require supporting columns, that interrupt the view and reduce the setting - and the completeness (a hotel, a restaurant, and a veterinary clinic are included) make it a unique project.
